Nestled in a tranquil valley just 2 km from Coulonges la Rouge, it's an ideal base for exploring the region without the hassle of excessive travel. As someone who enjoys the great outdoors, I appreciated the helpful touch of having maps and leaflets provided during breakfast, guiding us to hidden gems around the area. The charm of the hotel shines through each uniquely decorated room, though it’s wise to note that the upstairs rooms can be a bit cramped for taller guests like my partner and me. Their on-site restaurant offered a lovely dining experience, with a menu that showcased local flavors, although the wine selection was on the pricier side. Despite the modest investment required for a stay here, the heartfelt hospitality of owners Catherine and Denis, along with the opportunity to connect with nature, certainly justifies it. All in all, La Bastidie delivers a valuable experience for those looking to blend comfort with adventure.
